Why it works for Sehri

  • No pan, blender or advance cooking required.
  • The combination of creamy, tart and crunchy textures keeps a simple bowl interesting.
  • Frozen berries can be thawed overnight in the fridge.

Notes that make the difference

  • If using frozen berries, thaw them in the refrigerator rather than on the counter.
  • Toast the oats in a dry pan the night before for a nuttier flavour.

Storing and reheating

Assemble fresh. Thawed berries keep covered in the refrigerator for about a day.

Substitutions

  • Use plain Greek yoghurt if cottage cheese is unavailable.
  • Use chopped peach or pear instead of berries.

Cooking times assume a standard domestic hob and oven and will vary with your equipment. No nutritional figures are given: calculating them reliably needs the exact brand and weight of every ingredient, and an invented number would be worse than none.
