How this countdown works
Choose what the timer counts to: the first Fajr/first fast, the opening sunset on the previous evening, or a custom local date and time. The default planning date for the first fast is Monday, 8 February 2027. The target time zone is shown and can be edited.
How to use it

- Check the target date, local time and IANA time zone shown in the fields. Opening sunset uses the previous Gregorian date, not merely a different clock time on the first-fast date.
- For an official local announcement, switch to Custom and enter the announced target.
- The four boxes update every second from that explicit local target.
Reading the result
The days box is whole days remaining, and the hours, minutes and seconds are the remainder of the current day, so the four numbers together are one continuous countdown rather than four separate figures.
Important: 8 February 2027 is an astronomical projection. The actual start of Ramadan depends on the sighting of the new crescent in your region and may fall one day earlier or later.

What the countdown is actually counting
Ramadan begins at sunset before the first fasting day, while the first fast itself begins at Fajr. The tool therefore keeps those targets separate. A custom target is also available because local announcements can move the practical start date by a day.
