Missed Fast (Qada) Calculator
Plan your make-up fasts and see the fidya amount.
Qada fasts should be completed before the next Ramadan (Qur’an 2:184–185). Fidya applies only to those who genuinely cannot fast; ask a qualified scholar about your case.
Making up missed fasts
Whoever is ill or travelling during Ramadan makes up the same number of days later: “…then an equal number of days [are to be made up]” (Qur’an 2:184). Qada fasts should be completed before the next Ramadan.
How to use the calculator
- Enter how many fasts you missed.
- Choose the date you will start making them up — many people begin after the six voluntary fasts of Shawwal.
- Set a realistic number of make-up fasts per week; Mondays and Thursdays are a common, Sunnah-friendly pattern.
- The result shows the weeks needed and the date you will finish.
Fidya
Fidya (feeding a poor person for each missed day) applies to those who are permanently unable to fast, such as the chronically ill or the very elderly. Enter your local cost of one meal per day to see the total. If you are able to fast later, qada — not fidya — is required.

Frequently asked questions
Do missed fasts have to be consecutive?
The majority of scholars say they may be spread out, as the verse requires only an equal number of days.
What if the next Ramadan arrives first?
Most scholars require you to still make up the days, and many add a fidya for the delay when it was without a valid excuse. Ask a qualified scholar about your situation.
