Making up missed fasts
Whoever is ill or travelling during Ramadan makes up the same number of days later: “…then an equal number of days [are to be made up]” (Qur’an 2:184). Qada fasts should be completed before the next Ramadan.

Fidya
Fidya (feeding a poor person for each missed day) applies to those who are permanently unable to fast, such as the chronically ill or the very elderly. Enter your local cost of one meal per day to see the total. If you are able to fast later, qada — not fidya — is required.

Qada is a count, not a verdict
The calculator schedules the number of make-up fasts you enter. It does not decide whether a day must be made up, whether fidya is due, or whether another expiation applies. Those questions depend on why the fast was missed and, in some cases, the school of law followed.
