How the quiz works

Choose a topic and a round length, then answer one question at a time. Every question has four options. As soon as you answer, the quiz tells you whether you were right, explains why the correct answer is correct, and shows the source it is taken from — a Qur’an verse with its surah and verse number, or a hadith with its collection and hadith number. Rounds open with the easier questions and work towards the harder ones, and each round draws on questions you have not seen yet before repeating any.

A separate quiz from the Ramadan one

This bank covers the Qur’an, the Seerah and early Islamic history, and the basics of worship and Islamic terminology. It is deliberately kept apart from the Ramadan Quiz, so a Ramadan round never turns into something else halfway through.

Where the answers come from

• Qur’an answers cite the surah and verse, for example Qur’an 2:185.
• Hadith answers name the collection and the hadith number, for example Sahih al-Bukhari 1923 or Sahih Muslim 1095. Narrations from the four Sunan are identified as such, with the grading noted where it matters.
• Where the schools of law genuinely differ, the explanation says so instead of presenting one school’s position as the only answer.
• Health questions reflect general public-health guidance and never tell anyone to stop or change medication. Ask a doctor about your own situation.

A note on using the quiz

The quiz is a learning aid, not a fatwa service. A multiple-choice answer cannot capture the detail of a real situation — whether a particular medicine breaks a fast, whether a particular illness excuses it, or how much zakat is due on a particular business. For those questions, speak to a qualified scholar who can hear the details of your case.
