Eid al-Fitr is the first day of Shawwal, the day after the last fast of Ramadan. With a 30-day Ramadan beginning on 8 February 2027, Eid is expected on 10 March 2027; if Ramadan is 29 days it falls on 9 March 2027.

The target is provisional
Eid al-Fitr begins on 1 Shawwal. Its civil-calendar date depends on whether Ramadan completes 29 or 30 days under the authority followed locally. The calculator therefore treats its default date as an expected target that can be changed.
Use the editable target for local announcements
If your country confirms Shawwal on a different civil date from the planning default, change the target date. This preserves the tool’s usefulness without pretending the site can predict the official announcement in advance.
Calendar-day versus religious-day language
Eid begins from the Islamic date boundary associated with the new month, while public prayer and celebrations occur during the following civil morning. The countdown label should make clear which event it targets.
Choose the target you are counting toward
A countdown to midnight is not the same as a countdown to Eid prayer or to the end of the final Ramadan fast. This tool’s date target is for civil planning; local worship times should come from the local mosque or timetable.
Update after the Shawwal announcement
Once the authority you follow confirms the end of Ramadan, replace the projected target if necessary. A countdown should not continue displaying an old predicted date after an official local decision is known.
Travel across time zones
If planning Eid in another country, use the destination’s local date and announcement. Your current browser clock should not silently determine a remote location’s celebration date.
