Dua for Breaking the Fast
اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي لَكَ صُمْتُ وَبِكَ آمَنْتُ وَعَلَيْكَ تَوَكَّلْتُ وَعَلَى رِزْقِكَ أَفْطَرْتُ
Allahumma inni laka sumtu wa bika aamantu wa ‘alayka tawakkaltu wa ‘ala rizqika aftartu
“O Allah, for You I have fasted, in You I believe, upon You I rely, and with Your provision I break my fast.”
Commonly recited Iftar wording. A related report is found in Sunan Abi Dawud 2358, but its chain is weak; this page therefore does not label the wording as an authenticated prophetic formula.
When to say it
This wording is commonly recited at Iftar. Because the report connected to it is weak, treat it as a permissible supplication rather than claiming a firmly authenticated prophetic wording.

This exact wording is widely recited. A related narration is reported in Sunan Abi Dawud 2358 with weakness in its chain, so the site presents it as a commonly used supplication rather than claiming that this complete wording is established by a sound prophetic chain. A person may also make any good personal dua at Iftar.
When to recite it
Use it when breaking the fast at Maghrib. The supplication does not replace the requirement to establish the actual Iftar time from a reliable local timetable.
Do not confuse source transparency with prohibition
Explaining that a chain is weak is not the same as telling users that the wording is forbidden. The page keeps the requested supplication available, labels its status carefully and avoids the stronger claim that the full formula is established by an authentic Prophetic chain.
